Sleepin’ Dogz is a 4 piece Rock/Jam band that hails from the sun baked Treasure Coast of Florida. The band started as a husband and wife duo with singer-songwriter, Jeannie Burke and lead guitarist, Leo Burke. In mid 2017, bassist/singer-songwriter Steven Pippin and drummer, Jeff Newman joined the Burkes to perform as a full band. We are rock fans and in addition to writing and performing our original music, we play reimagined covers from artists we love and grew up with, such as Led Zeppelin and the Allman Brothers Band. Jeannie & Leo continue to tour Nationally as the duo performing a combination of original material and covers by wide variety of genres and artists. From Jazz by Etta James, to Blues by Bonnie Raitt, to country by Willie Nelson & Johnny Cash, to Soul from Marvin Gaye, to Pop from Amy Winehouse & Adele to Rock from RHCP & Stone Temple Pilots, they enjoy being genre fluid. They’ve booked several notable venues such as The Bluebird in Nashville and the Bitter End in NYC. Jeannie was a finalist in the singer-songwriter competition for Spring Fest at the renowned Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park in Florida. They sometimes perform as the Sleepin’ Dogz Trio with Pippin on acoustic guitar. The trio plays a mix of original music and covers from artists like Jason Isbell, The Civil Wars and The Brother’s Landreth. The band has performed at several Florida festivals such as Nez Fest, St Lucie Farm to Grass Music Festival and Sebastian Fine Art & Music Festival.

We get our souls fueled by live performance. The energy exchange between the band and audience is a joyful experience for us all.

We have two lead vocalists which affords us the ability to be versatile in our song choices. We really enjoy harmonizing and adding gang vocals when Jeff and Leo chime in.
