The Ride
Written By: Jeannie Blatus

How do you know that the path that you've chosen's the right one?
How can you be sure that the door that you've opened
isn't leading to an empty room?
What do you do when you're so overwhelmed that you're frozen?
What do you say when you feel like every time you open up your mouth
You spoke too soon?

Autumn maple leaves ablaze burning through the morning haze.
It penetrates me right where I stand.
Stretching out my mind awakes. I realize the road I take don't matter
I'm supposed to be right where I am.

We all need. We all bleed. We're all seeking out the signs we sometimes fail to read.
But we all try. And someday we've all gotta die. If you wait too long to jump on
You might miss the whole ride. Don't miss the ride.

Where do you go when the fork in the road lies before you?
Where do you turn when you're burning to take off
but you're afraid it's in the wrong direction?
How do you see when your fear to proceed nearly blinds you?
How do you fly when you choose to stay inside of your
cocoon just for your own protection?

Breathing deep I taste the air with sea salt clinging to my hair.
The ocean water pools in my hands.

Every time has it's season. Everything has it's reason.

We all need. We all bleed. We're all seeking out the signs we sometimes fail to read.
But we all try. And someday we've all gotta die. If you wait too long to jump on
You might miss the whole ride.

We all need.
