“Things could be worse”, he said with a shrug and a smile.
I don't see how, I thought to myself, but I admired his hopeful style of thinking.
“Don't you worry about me honey, cuz I'll be just fine. I'm not gonna let this
take me down”, and then he poured me a glass of my favorite red wine.

Shake it off, move on. Live your life like it's the last song
At the end of a perfect Saturday night when your swayin' with your lover
And you hold eachother tight. You shout to the band to keep playing your song
So you can throw back your head and sing along.
You sing on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on.
Life is a song, sing on.

He said, “You can try to count your blessing girl, but I don't know if numbers
Reach that high. Cuz sista you've got it going on if you'd just open up your eyes.
Don't you wallow away your life in your problems big or small. Don't be afraid to embrace the whole world and pretend like you own it all, cuz you can.

Life is too short, and yet your do-list is oh so long.
So don't waste it sitting on your ass cuz ‘fore you know it it's all gone.
So be strong, sing on.
